We recently had the chance to connect with Dr. Jamie Schiffer and have shared our conversation below.
Jamie, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Every day looks a little different for me, but most often you’ll find me teaching a few Pilates or yoga classes—either at our studio or out in the park. I usually have my newborn, Everest, in tow, and after class, I head off to pick up my son Ezra from preschool. Some afternoons, I spend time with both Ezra and my daughter Milly until my husband gets home. Then I’m often back at the studio to teach a few more sessions before wrapping up the day with the kids’ bath or bedtime routine.
With three little ones under five, life is full of the usual chaos and repetition—but honestly, these everyday moments are my favorite. Whether we’re romping around the front yard beneath the trees or I’m just watching them invent silly games together, it’s in these simple, joyful snippets that I feel most at home.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jamie Schiffer—mama of three little ones and the founder of Om Baby Bliss, a wellness space dedicated to supporting mothers and families through movement, mindfulness, and community. I’m a certified yoga and Pilates instructor, and I created Om Baby Bliss to be more than just a place to take a class—it’s a sanctuary where parents can breathe, connect, and feel seen during one of life’s most transformative (and often overwhelming) seasons.
Our offerings are rooted in supporting the whole parent—from prenatal and postnatal classes to baby-and-me sessions, outdoor park classes, and community events that foster connection. What makes Om Baby Bliss special is that it was born out of my own motherhood journey. After becoming a mom, I realized how deeply we need spaces that allow us to slow down, move our bodies with care, and be surrounded by others who understand what we’re going through.
These days, you’ll often find me teaching a class with my newborn Everest in a wrap, or greeting familiar faces as parents gather their little ones after class. I’m currently working on expanding our offerings to include more family-centered wellness workshops and events, and deepening our local community connections. At Om Baby Bliss, our mission is simple: to remind parents that they are not alone—and that caring for themselves is an essential part of caring for their families.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband, Justin Schiffer.
From the very beginning, Justin saw something in me that I hadn’t fully recognized in myself yet, that I was passionate about helping families and finding a way to build community.
He believed in my ability to create something meaningful—something rooted in love, community, and purpose—before I had the courage to say it out loud. He’s always had this calm, steady faith in me, even in the messiest, most uncertain moments of building both a business and a family.
He’s the one who reminds me to take it easy when I put too much pressure on myself and to remember how far we’ve come when I forget. I’m endlessly grateful for the way he’s walked beside me—not just cheering me on, but truly seeing me, even before I did.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—many times. Starting a business is full of ups and downs, and those early years involved a lot of trial and error. It’s not always easy to keep going when you’re pouring your heart into something and still figuring it all out.
One of the hardest moments came in 2024, when I experienced a miscarriage. In the midst of grief, exhaustion, and the demands of motherhood, I seriously considered walking away from my dream. I felt completely depleted and thought maybe the best thing I could do was step back and just focus entirely on my kids.
But over time, I realized that creating Om Baby Bliss wasn’t separate from my role as a mother—it was an extension of it. My healing, my purpose, and the space I wanted to create for other parents were all deeply connected. That experience didn’t end my journey—it reshaped it with even more compassion, intention, and clarity.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Being the change you wish to see in the world.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I can honestly say I don’t think I’d do anything different than I currently am.
