Jenelle, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Flowers can be a lonely business sometimes. I love taking a break in my day & meeting friends for lunch. They’re always guaranteed to make me smile & laugh so hard it hurts. Soothes my soul.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I own Bellani Floral & Events, we offer flower/gift deliveries, specialize in weddings & funerals. Business wise, are known for our fun workshops & wreath bars.
We are most proud of our service to our community. In 2020, we started a nonprofit “Roses for Veterans “, & participate in “Petal it Forward”
We enjoy giving back to the community that has been such a huge support to us.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The loss of my two brothers. I didn’t see the beauty in the world until I had to deal with the loss of my brothers.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
After losing my brothers, I was in banking &described myself as a robot. Just going through the motions with no passion.
The day I saw my friend (who was battling Cancer) light up when she received a flower bouquet was the day I knew this was my calling. Flowers have healed my broken heart in so many ways. I get to bring joy, peace, comfort & love to people every day. My heart is full..
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My daughter. She’s accomplished so much but is the most amazing human being I know. She genuinely loves people & encourages anyone she knows to be their best self.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Handling grief, which is probably why I’m best known for my funeral work.
I listen to the family about who the person was so I can best create what would be their personality. . I know what it feels like to be in a moment of sadness & look up at beautiful flowers & feel a sense of calm. It makes me feel so good to be able to provide that.
