We recently had the chance to connect with Kristen Chazaud & Dana Kight and have shared our conversation below.
Kristen Chazaud & Dana Kight, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Succulent gardening. I love spending time outside and watching new growth!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
After about 5 years in hospice operations, I am proud to announce the re-launch of Keepsake Concepts. Keepsake Concepts offers placement consulting, care consulting and business consulting.
Dana and I worked together in hospice care. We made a great team with her clinical skill set, and my operations obsession. We both are aligned in wanting to assist elders on their journey when they face a loss of independence. I am grateful to continue this sacred work along side her.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Corporations taught us the most about work. Working within the constraints of Medicare guidelines as well as corporate practices nudged us toward creating a space where we could truly put our clients first.
When families call us with a need, we can assist them without limitations and find the best fit for them.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Dana and I both have been met with challenges that inform our judgment in ways that can not be substituted.
These real life experiences give us an edge when working with our clients as well as industry professionals.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The word CARE is not a given. Value based care, end of life care, skilled care and even caregiver.
Care is lacking more often than it should be.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Support! Our clients have support during a difficult time. Having a trusted resource to vent to, ask questions when you think of them or just being there as a sounding board matters.
