An Inspired Chat with Patrina Wisdom of San Diego/Carlsbad/ Oceanside

Patrina Wisdom shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Patrina, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
So many high-achieving women are silently struggling with the disconnect between success and fulfillment. They’ve built the business, checked the boxes, collected the accolades—and yet, deep down, they feel a quiet ache. An emptiness. A question they’re almost ashamed to ask: “Is this it?”

What they rarely say out loud is that they’re exhausted from performing. They feel guilty for wanting more when they already “have so much.” And they’re terrified to admit that the version of success they’ve built no longer fits who they’re becoming.

I believe our power lives in moments of honesty. That’s why I created the Anatomy of Abundance® framework, and why I share raw, unfiltered stories of high-achieving women on my Living Room Wisdom Podcast—to give women permission to speak their truth, come fully home to themselves, and create a life and legacy that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.

Because fulfillment isn’t selfish. It’s sacred.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Patrina Wisdom—founder of Pure Abundance Inc., Host of Living Room Wisdom Podcast, TEDx Speaker, Best-Selling Author, and creator of the Anatomy of Abundance® framework and Pure Abundance Retreat®.

After losing my husband of 20 years to suicide and discovering I was pregnant with my fourth child on the same day, I was cracked wide open. That moment shattered every illusion of control I had—but it also became the catalyst for my greatest awakening. I turned my pain into purpose, my breakdown into a breakthrough, and I’ve since made it my life’s work to guide high-achieving women through their own sacred transitions.

At Pure Abundance Inc., we help women move from burnout to brilliance, from performing to being, from confusion to clarity—so they can live unapologetically, lead authentically, and build wealth on their own terms. We do this through luxury transformational retreats, our podcast, and embodied business mentorship rooted in the Anatomy of Abundance®, my signature 6-pillar framework.

Right now, I’m focused on enrolling authors and launching Volume 2 of the Anatomy of Abundance® book: The Evolution of Women Who Refuse To Settle, launching Season 6 of my podcast Living Room Wisdom, and inviting a new wave of powerhouse women into our next Pure Abundance Retreat® in Thailand (Feb 2026).

What makes this work special is that it’s not just about mindset—it’s about soulset, embodiment, sovereignty, and legacy. I believe you were never meant to shrink to fit. You were designed to take up space and inspire innovation.

This is your permission slip to rise.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I was ugly, fat, and stupid. I was taught—directly and indirectly—that girls should be seen, not heard… that love looked like sacrificing your needs, silencing your truth, and serving everyone else, even to your own detriment. I made myself small to survive. I stayed quiet to keep the peace. And I put myself last, believing that martyrdom was the path to love and belonging.

Those beliefs led me into dangerous and compromising situations. They chipped away at my self-worth and made me question my value. For years, I hid in plain sight—performing, perfecting, and pleasing, while feeling completely disconnected from the magic of who I truly was.

But I don’t believe those lies anymore.

I’ve come home to myself. I’ve found my voice. I’ve made sacred self-care non-negotiable. And I’ve redefined love, success, and womanhood on my own terms. Today, I don’t shrink—I shine. And I teach other women to do the same.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience, resilience, grace, and empathy in ways that success never could. It taught me how to sit in the discomfort without losing myself. How to breathe through the breakdowns and still believe in the breakthrough. It gave me the tenacity to keep moving forward—not perfectly, but creativley, and faithfully—making adjustments and realigning as I go.

While success can validate, suffering transforms. It strips away the illusion of control and invites us into radical presence. It showed me that there is no finish line, no ultimate “arrival.” There is only the journey. And I’ve learned to be intentional and grateful for every step, every lesson, and every moment along the way.

Because true abundance isn’t just what we build, it’s who we become through it all.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes… but they don’t get all of me.

What you see publicly is absolutely real—it’s rooted in truth, integrity, and purpose. But like many high-achieving women, there are layers of me that are reserved for my inner circle. One thing most people don’t know until they’re in my sacred space is that fun, laughter, and often utter ridiculousness are core components of my personality. I can be wildly funny, delightfully inappropriate, and unfiltered in the best way.

I say the things most people are only thinking. I love deep, taboo conversations—especially around sex, power, and pleasure. That side of me doesn’t always show up on stage or online, but it’s deeply woven into who I am. And I’m learning more and more to let all of me take up space—because the world needs our full, unedited brilliance.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they say I loved hard—unapologetically, fiercely, and fully. That I was deeply committed and loyal to the people and missions that mattered most. That I was a bold risk-taker who didn’t just dream big, but took aligned action toward every desire, every vision, and every goal in her heart.

And above all, I hope they remember how I showed up—with presence, with power, and with purpose—for myself, my family, my friends, and my community. That I lived a life of embodied abundance—and invited others to do the same.

“That b*tch lived—and left nothing to question.”
