An Inspired Chat with Shawna Allard of San Elijo Hills

We recently had the chance to connect with Shawna Allard and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Shawna, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
It’s a common misconception that psychics are con artists or can only communicate with ghosts. I think these are the major misunderstandings about my work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My journey as an intuitive psychic started early in my life, but it wasn’t until I was nine that I became aware of my unique gift. I now serve as a psychic medium and intuitive channel, using my insight to help others.
As the founder of the Divine Knowing Institute, my mission is to teach as many seekers as possible to develop and use their intuition. I am the author of “Knowing,” a book that was recognized as the Best Inspiration/Self-Help/Spiritual Book at the 2019 San Diego Book Awards.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
When I discovered that I could see people’s auras and possess other psychic abilities, I was confused at first. It was my mother who told me that my gift is a normal aspect of my life, and it can be developed and used to help others. Her wisdom was essential in helping me accept my psychic abilities.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Here’s what I would say to my younger self: You came into this world with amazing gifts to share. So, unpeel the layers of your self-protective ego. It will make you feel vulnerable, but it is the only way to live your life to the fullest. Pray for guidance, and you will find that there is a greater power beneath that uplifts you, giving you the strength and clarity to follow your dreams.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
When I founded the Divine Knowing Institute many years ago, my goal was to share my knowledge with others. Since then, I’ve been committed to teaching classes on various subjects, including a class on awakening and using intuition, which I believe is a significant step in self-knowledge.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I was born an intuitive psychic, so I was aware of my abilities from a young age. One day, while I was in deep prayer, I experienced the Divine presence, which awakened my clairvoyance to its fullest. I received a message., Spirit said, “We can speak through you to help others.
I had to make a choice at that point in my life, and take a massive leap of faith, quit my full-time job as an accountant, relying only on my psychic abilities to serve others as an intuitive psychic as a means of supporting my family. So, yes, I can say that I’m doing what I was born to do.
