An Inspired Chat with Stephania Bonilla Salas of San Diego Ca

We recently had the chance to connect with Stephania Bonilla Salas and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephania, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
I’ve learned that people love to feel involved. When I engage with the crowd, take a request, or just hype them up before a drop, the whole vibe changes and can turn a good night into an unforgettable one.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Im a DJ and music lover who’s been passionate about this since I was a kid. What truly sets us apart is our versatility and the fact that we’re fully bilingual, which allows us to connect with diverse audiences and create personalized experiences. We’ve had the honor of collaborating with major community events like the Pride Parade in Hillcrest, the Holiday Bowl Parade by the San Diego Bay, and the Holiday Christmas Parade. At the same time, we bring that same level of energy and professionalism to private events, including Quinceañeras , Weddings and family celebrations. Whether it’s a big stage or an intimate party, our goal is always the same to make it unforgettable through music!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
It was my dad. He saw something in me before I even realized it myself. He was the one who noticed my passion for music when I was just a kid, and he believed in me from the start. In fact, he even took a photo of us together during one of my first moments as a DJ. t’s a picture I’ve shared in other interviews, and it means a lot to me. He constantly reminds me where I come from and keeps me grounded. His support has always been a big part of my journey

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
One of my biggest fears has always been that my equipment could fail during a big event especially due to electrical issues. And unfortunately, it actually happened to me once. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve had as a DJ. I never thought it would affect me so much in the moment, but when the power failed, it felt like everything stopped. Still, we managed to save the event. We stayed calm, worked fast to fix the issue, and kept the crowd engaged. That experience taught me a lot about being prepared, staying focused, and always having a backup plan. Now I take extra steps to avoid that situation, but I’m also more confident in my ability to handle it if it ever happens again.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and no. The public version is me just amplified. It’s the version that lives for the music, the crowd, and the moment. But behind the scenes, I’m also someone who’s constantly learning, planning, and growing In real life, I’m actually pretty shy. I don’t really enjoy being in big, open spaces unless it has something to do with music. Music gives me a reason to be there, a way to connect, and the confidence to express myself.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
My dream is to be well-recognized, at least here in my city, and hopefully in other places too. I know that takes time, so I’m putting in the work now!!!
