Art & Life with Cheyenne Kaiser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheyenne Kaiser.

Cheyenne, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started photography in Illinois when I was 16 with a point and shoot. I moved to California when I was 18 and took my first photography class through the Irvine District. Still only having my point and shoot I felt out of my league, but within the first class I realized that it is not the camera that makes the photographer.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I started shooting landscapes, but after I got my Rebel I started experimenting with Macro. However, now that I’ve been shooting for a while I like to photograph whatever catches my eye, and for the viewer, it’s whatever catches their eye. Photography, like music, can be subjective and unless there’s a specific point to the photo to be recognized or noticed, the viewer can take whatever they want from the photo.

What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
I don’t participate in local and modern art today. Everyone takes themselves too seriously and is too busy trying to prove how deep they are, when real skill seems not to be a requirement at all anymore.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
