Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark McField.
Mark, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I first became interested in visual storytelling in high school. My friends and I would record us doing random things throughout our day and eventually that led me to study video production in college. Over the last year or so I’ve picked up photography as another way of visual storytelling, which has been really fun to express myself through another visual medium.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I absolutely love adventuring, especially the outdoors, and experiencing other cultures. I love to shoot adventure/lifestyle photos and videos and try to get outside any chance I get especially when it’s with others. What I hope people take away from my art is the inspiration to not just explore the outdoors, but also other cultures and connecting with people with other perspectives that are different than your own. I also want to inspire others to pursue what it is they are passionate about. I also try to love and encourage others by letting them know that they are always loved. No matter if you feel outcasted by society, feel alone, or discouraged I want others who see my art to know that they are deeply valued and treasured. I try to express these values through my work.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Reach out to other artists. Collaborate with them. You’d be surprised how much they’re willing to help and want to talk with another artist. We all just want to create.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Most of my work is posted on Instagram. I hope to have a website up and running by the end of the year. I would say one way to support me is to share my pictures with others, but also through word of mouth by sharing with other people and talking about how my work possibly inspires you.
