Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Holly Delgado.
Megan Holly, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I unexpectedly started a career I art after I began photography as a hobby when I was 14. I had a lot of spare time because I was homeschooled. Photography was my stress reliever. As time went on I decided to try to make my passion a career. I began professionally about a year ago, and my business has grown so much. I love what I do!
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a family photographer specializing in baby’s first year. Most of my clients are newborns under two weeks old! I work very hard to make every session unique, just like the babies. My photography gives parents a reminder of how little their perfect baby once was. These photos are once I a lifetime!
Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
The best thing you can do as an artist is just go for it! I started photography not knowing if I’d make a dime. Despite that I took out a credit card and bought equipment. It was a risk, but it paid off! I may never be a millionaire, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be happy.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Other than displayed in families’ homes, my art can be seen on my website and social media. People can support my work by sharing it online or referring me to family and friends.
