Art & Life with Noah Lloyd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Lloyd.

Noah, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started making music back in Junior high when a family friend gave me a demo of FL studio, after that I just made music for fun. It wasn’t until when I graduated high school I found out about dance music. After that, I decided to pursue music as a career. I went through a couple of different aliases until my friend mike (also San Diego native) and I decided to team up to make Haterade. We played shows here and there locally and some out of state. We got our music played by Diplo, Skrillex, Carnage, Krewella, and a few others during that time. After a couple of years mike decided to do his own thing, which I respect. He is a crazy talented producer and I’m always excited to hear new stuff from him. After that, I got married to my super-hot wife and we moved to LA so I could go to ICON music production school. I learned a lot there and made a lot of friends during that time. Shortly after school I got into teaching new producers how to make music and working with some online production programs, making instructional videos and creating samples. Now, my wife and I are back in San Diego and we both look forward to what God has planned for our lives.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
In the most general sense, I make beats. Specifically high energy stuff. I make this stuff because it brings me life and I hope it does for other people as well. I don’t have a message behind what I do, at least not one that is articulated. I just want my music to make people happy.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
When you can pay your bills and achieve your life goals (not career goals) with only your art, you have made it. If you’re working all the time and not enjoying what you’ve achieved, you’re doing it wrong. I think the most essential characteristic for an artist is a combo of two things, consistency and integrity. Do what you say you’re going to do, do it on time, and do it every day. Just by showing up to work every day you already beat half of the other guys who only work when they feel like it.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can go check out my music on Spotify or Apple music. Soundcloud is there too but I think the industry as a whole is moving away from soundcloud a little bit. If you wanna see me talk about what I do and break it down step by step you can check out a bunch of content form me on Academy.fm, they’ve got a great organization over there. If you’re interested in taking lessons from me you can shoot me a message on my Facebook or twitter (email is good too).
