Today we’d like to introduce you to Oscar Gudiño.
Oscar, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I like to think I was molded by my tribulations, since tribulations will never end I, as others believe; I’ll never stop reforming. Growing up in a loving home has only taught me how to love unconditionally so ultimately, I am blessed to have been brought up in a home like that. Those are the teachings that have given me the patience to learn my craft.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
The only thing I want people to take from my work is the knowing of how much love one can put into their work, how happy one can make another person by committing a little bit of their time. The feel of “gifting” is what I want people to feel.
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
We as small artist should be thankful for any opportunities our cities allows to do, from inside local spots to more visible areas, the idea is to be able inspire anyone able to see it; with idea’s sparked our cities flourish. As far as artist conditions now, I believe now more than ever we have the chances and tools to do everything we’ve ever wanted so when we’re being artist and procrastinating we have to check ourselves and put that one step in front of the other. The only thing we can ever ask for is the chance to explore our ideas and help spark our cities through art and compromise.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Most of my work is posted on Instagram hoping to expand onto full a domain soon but as of now just keep an eye out for my bigger picture projects @_gudinotattoos or come say hi if you’re in the north county I’d love to meet you, mention the article and I’d love to work with you on a tattoo design or body of work you’ve been thinking about at a great rate, Oh and how can I forget give us a follow at @goodneighbortattoo to check out some of the other artist work.
