Check out Amber Hatch’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Hatch.

Amber, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’ve always had an interest in art, but it wasn’t until after high school that I began to take it seriously. After high school I came to the realization that I wasn’t going to be able to go to the university I got accepted to. It was heartbreaking and I found myself lost. During that time, I bought myself a sketchbook and started to fill it out. Through art I was able to pick myself back up from that heartbreak and do something I love. Since then I’ve filled up over four sketchbooks. I hope to be able to sell my art soon and share it with the world!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a watercolor artist. I started off with an old set of Crayola watercolors almost one year ago and moved up from there. I feel as though watercolors enhance the themes I depict in my paintings. I love to paint mythical and fantasy characters as if they existed within the same realm as us. I also love to create paintings with nature themes. Both of these are things I’ve only recently been experimenting in, but I hope to continue with it and make something wonderful.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
There are so many places in Oceanside that host artists and art meetups, such as the Oceanside art walk. These amazing opportunities provide the environment to meet local artists who range in age, style, medium, and so much more. If you’re unable to attend these events there is always social media. I’ve met so many amazing artists through Instagram. There are art challenges that happen multiple times a year that artists from all over the world participate in. And many artists enjoy doing art trades and collaborations!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
At the moment I only am able to post my work on Instagram but I hope to sell my work and prints of my work soon!
