Check out Anny Rodriguez de Diaz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anny Rodriguez de Diaz.

Anny, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have always loved baking, but I did not start decorating cookies as a profession until my husband gifted me a Kitchen Aid mixer. Before that, I was preparing everything by hand. It quickly became a passion, and my friends would ask me to make cookies for their parties. That was two years ago. I was gaining popularity in my local community of Poway, and I realized I could try and make a business with my cookies. So I researched how to make my home a certified kitchen and Two Bundles Bakes was created. I have a Food Operation License with the County of San Diego. The meaning behind Two Bundles Bakes are my children. They are my “why” and I want to make my family proud while also showing them you can turn your passion into profit.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a cookier – I bake and decorate all types of custom cookies. I love that each order is different and specific to an occasion. They are special! The smiles I receive in return are priceless. It is easy to love what you do when you are bringing joy to others by using your own creativity. I am constantly inspired by my peers in the industry. Everyone shares their successes, and it is a very supportive community to be a part of.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
Do think artists are very influential in their community and have a responsibility to share their work in a positive manner. Local creatives have grown in the artist industry whereas years ago it was not as appreciated unless you were famous. The prevalence of Social Media has definitely given artists huge opportunity and recognition where it was not before.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
The majority of my business comes from my local community. I also enjoy Instagram where I share my current projects on a daily basis. You can find me often at the Flower Hill Makers Bazaar in Del Mar. Currently, you can also find my cookies at SoCal Made located in Mission Valley Mall – the store is a collaboration of San Diego vendors selling local goods. Additionally, I am honored to be able to give back to my community and participate in fundraising events for good causes. Rady Children’s Hospital, The San Diego Cake show where I placed second in my category, this event benefits Ronald Mc Donald House for families with sick children. I also have been able to contribute with fundraising for Colorectal Cancer Alliance, Unravel Pediatric Cancer to name a few.
