Check out Ariana Angel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Angel.

Ariana, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was young, I knew that I loved being creative and onstage. Oddly enough I’ve always been a shy person, but when you’re truly passionate about something, those fears get thrown out the window. When I was 17, I decided to start pursuing modeling since it wasn’t something my parents wanted me to focus on in high school. I started putting together photo shoots to have professional photos for auditions, I found a runway coach to help critique my walk, and practiced commercials and monologues to broaden my range. Each connection I made helped expand my network and gave me more opportunities as I worked. From 17 to now, I’ve walked for Dame Zandra Rhodes, Kenneth Barlis, LA Fashion Week and San Diego Fashion Week as well as many other local designers and fashion producers. In this industry, you will always hear more no’s than yes’s, so you have to be relentless to get anywhere.

We’d love to hear more about your work. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
As a runway model, it’s my job to personify the clothes and give life to an artists’ design. Runway is putting that art on a pedestal so everyone in the room can experience it. That’s part of what makes fashion so inspirational. You can never put something like that into words, but it can be felt. Personally, modeling makes me feel alive because in that moment you are absolutely fabulously and unapologetically yourself, and that always makes the most intriguing picture. I hope that people can experience the art of fashion and find something that speaks to them. My work always tells a story. I give life to designs through movement and emotion that people can relate to, something a hanger or dress form could never accomplish.

What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is happiness. If you can be comfortable and content where you are in life, then you’ve made it. There will always be obstacles but it’s how you deal with them that’s the most important. As an artist/entrepreneur you need to be confident in your work so others will believe in it also, and as I mentioned earlier, be relentless. Everybody and their mothers are going to tell you no, but as long as you keep moving, you’ll find more opportunity. Sometimes the smartest thing to do is to take a step back and try a new direction.

Do you have any events? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support and connect with you?
Because I’m the most disengaged millennial on the planet, I only use a couple of platforms to show my content. I use Instagram and Dayflash @arianaaangell to showcase my recent work. All of my work will be featured on those two sites, but I’ll eventually include a website link to my Instagram for easier bookings.
