Check out Ashley Fierro’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Fierro.

Ashley is a celebrity makeup artist, educator and keynote speaker who specializes in editorial and fashion media, red carpet events, professional athletes, luxury brides, TV and film. With over a decade of experience, her fresh, natural and modern approach to beauty has attracted celebrity clients wanting to be on trend, camera and red carpet ready, as well as maintain a consistent yet adventurous spirit.

Her wedding work has graced the covers of Martha Stewart Weddings and Exquisite Weddings and her studio services 100 Bridal clients a year. Ashley Fierro and her team (previously known as My Girls on Film Studios) have become the most sought-after makeup studio in Southern California for luxury brides. Ashley has also created her own highly pigmented mineral makeup line that she uses on all of her clients.

Ashley also teaches makeup artist’s around the globe in her wildly successful Business of Makeup® on-line courses. She educates artists on how to take their creative passions into a full-time career. Business of Makeup® also sponsors the PRO Series, an on-going series of one day in-person courses featuring Master Makeup Artists sharing and teaching the art of combining Makeup and Business skills that have propelled them to the top of their industry.

Growing up, she went to a private school where makeup wasn’t allowed until high school. That combined with her natural artistic ability made Ashley eager to start playing, experimenting and applying makeup. At the same time, Ashley’s aunt was a highly celebrated makeup artist and the right-hand woman to Trish McEvoy. She helped Ashley hone in her skills by giving her access to professional makeup pallets and introduced her to color theory, facial architecture and lighting.

Ashley attended the University of Arizona and then moved to Florence, Italy to study fine art and painting. She returned to the states and began her career as a professional makeup artist. Ashley has a luxury makeup studio in Southern California and travels all over the world with her clients who seek out her clean, radiant approach.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a professional makeup artist. My mantra is that you should look like you, just a famous version of you. Every human is beautifully unique in their own way – my job is to get them ready for the camera and to make my client feel like the best version of themselves. There is a special transformation that occurs when someone comes in to get their makeup done. They come in raw and exposed and leave feeling radiant and confident – that is why I do what I do.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
The landscape has changed dramatically! You CAN make a living being a creative – I teach people how to do that!
The best thing you can do as a consumer is buy local, support the people within your community. And remember, you get what you pay for! Look at people’s credentials and experience before you make a costly mistake hiring based off price versus ability and expertise.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I will be teaching Business of Makeup™ at the upcoming IMATS LA 2019. I also do a few in-people educational offerings. Follow me on Instagram for more details: @ashleyfierromua @businessofmakeup.
