Check out Ceroromo Bragg’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ceroromo Bragg.

Ceroromo, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was adopted at eight years old; saved from a broken home and abused as a child. My mother had me at 16 and my grandparents couldn’t afford to take care of me. In 1988 my life was saved by an amazing family who taught me the values of life. Fast forward I served in the military for 14 years my last four years of service was spent with the Navy Seals. I completed two tours in Afghanistan; that’s where I created my brand Flavaapparel – fearless living and victorious ambitions. I wanted to be known for positivity, known for doing something great with my life. I wanted to give the people a brand that they could relate too. We all have a dream; we all want to be successful. Flava is a brand for the dreamers, for the people who struggled in life but found their way. Flava is you, me, the little girl who wants to be an engineer or the little boy who wants to become a doctor.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
A lot of the time I try and think what would the people want. What could motivate them to make them want to join the movement? I’ve been known to be very good at what I do. Creating a design isn’t as hard as you think you just need to have good timing on the right words or designs to come out with. The inspiration in what I try to feed people is not the aspect of the dream but the hard-work behind that dream. It is very important for people to know that to own your own business or work towards your dream it is not a cake walk. Sometimes people get caught up in the success of it all but don’t realize that they will have to encounter some type of struggle in order to get to the top. For example, my motto We Work for Everything. Who does that apply to it’s a simple statement but yet deep in a lot of ways? I believe that no one is going to give you anything in life. You must work for it; you must put yourself in a position to become successful. Research, study, network, etc

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
There is no greater time than right now for artists to thrive in this world. The creative genius in people is amazing and it’s there, you just have to find it. I believe San Diego is doing a great job in supporting artists of course there are always more things that can be done. The City of San Diego embraces creative geniuses like myself.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
