Check out Corrina Ryan’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corrina Ryan.

Corrina, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Let’s just say I took the long road with a few twists and turns before I finally committed to a career in photography. My life has always been planted in the arts and the creative realm. As a kid it was theatre and painting, and then in college it was film and photography. Ironically after college, I fell into a career of wedding and event planning where I loved creating these memorable decadent moments but secretly wished I was behind the camera capturing them instead. After taking time off to have my first child, I picked up my camera and just never put it down. At first, I embraced capturing all the genuine joyous moments of babies, kids and families and then I landed right where I have always wanted to be…photographing weddings and events. Some may call it fate, I definitely know it’s where I am meant to be.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a wedding, portrait and lifestyle digital photographer. I love capturing the joy and love in each moment and creating a memory for life. My style of photography could be categorized as modern. romantic and timeless. Not only am I interested in capturing the moment, but I am also interested in creating a moment where everyone is having fun. This is probably very important to me because I am not very comfortable in front of the camera, so I am hyper aware of creating a space where everyone is not only comfortable but laughing and having a great time. Another goal I have this year as an artist is to make sure clients print their images. I feel as the digital world has taken over this past decade we post a few images on social media and that’s it. I am guilty of this myself so this year I am making a concerted effort to print work for myself and my clients.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I define success as a photographer as being able to capture the images that you want to capture. This might mean mastering a certain technical skill or it may mean finding dream clients that allow you that space and collaboration.
I feel as an artist you must believe in yourself and not look for others for validation. An early mentor said this to me and it really stuck.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be seen on Instagram @corrinryanphotography and online at www.corrina.com.
