Check out Daniela Darlene Zuñiga’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Darlene Zuñiga.

Daniela Darlene, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Since I can remember, I have always had an interest in photography. That interest grew even more in college while taking my first photography class and actually buying my first DSLR (the Canon Rebel T3i). In a way, I taught myself how to use the camera. This might sound cheesy, but after that… my life changed! I just fell in love with photography and the art I was able to create with it. I started photographing interiors and finished work for my uncle’s carpentry company and from there I moved on to doing portraits, weddings, and more. I love what I do, it’s my passion.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My photography is 98% natural lighting. I love working with natural light. I also love to capture unposed moments because I feel those are the moments you truly want to remember. So when I do photo sessions, I try not to pose my clients so that way it just feels more natural. Something you should know about my work is that I do it with a passion, and I always strive to better myself with each photo session I have. Each photo is unique in its own way.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
The conditions for artists today have become easier in that we have a faster and more efficient way in showcasing our art for the world to see. Social media is a medium in which artists did not have back then, and having it now we should take advantage of it (but also not get consumed by it). Also, it may be harder for artists to get recognition now since there is a lot of “competition” or because the art is similar to another. I always think it is better to grow together than compete with each other, because all in all we are all in this together.

I think there should be more art events and promotion for those events so that artists are able to attend and show their work. Also maybe coffee shops should allow local artists to place their work more often.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
