Check out Hoami Thamracksa’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hoami Thamracksa.

Hoami, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
A picture IS worth a thousand words and I’d like to high five the person who said it! Honestly, I didn’t really think photography would be part of my life professionally. I thought my work was just a girl snapping images of what she only thought was pretty in her mind. I mean, who am I but just another human loving to capture earth’s beautiful gems. I had the disposables, the polaroid’s, the point and shoots…… I had it all, including a bunch of photo boxes for those film prints!

I was born in Utah and my family moved to CA to dodge the winters. I still have family there and visit often. The outdoors there is beautiful (as much as it is in SD!), which I have to thank as it resonates in my photography work. I appreciate the outdoors, nature, the light, and really the calmness and solitude it gives. My work evolved from observing and appreciating beautiful work by other artists. I mean, there are SO MANY AMAZING ARTISTS IN THIS WORLD. I found what boosted my creativity, giving me the Ooos and ahhs and would take bits of that to shape what I wanted to capture in my photos. Love, laughter, emotion, and exuberant fun.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I specialize in weddings, lifestyle, and engagements (and capturing the life of my fur baby, Yuki). Basically, I love photographing human subjects and their emotions. I love to capture the in-betweens, laughter’s, whispers, glances, and the simple touches. I hope people take away not only a moment captured on camera but an experience. People remember what they feel. I hope people look at their pictures and remember what they felt in that moment. Genuine love, excitement, and beautifulness.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I believe one of the purposes of art is to move people, whether emotionally or physically. Art can be conveyed in so many forms including painting, music, dance, poems, or simply a photo. When a person’s inspiration for art is translated into a form that can be shared with the world, that is a beautiful success. Some artists are born with a natural gift, while others take a bit to find their muse, and that is okay. For that reason, artists should not be afraid to try and not be afraid of others opinion. Rather be open to feedback and different perspectives, which either can only help shape and craft an artist. Oh, and have fun!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be found on Instagram and my site! Yelp and have been published including The Inspired Bride, Artfully Wed, Knotsvilla, The Knot, and Pretty My Party. Or, just give me a buzz and we can chat to create your own photos! 🙂
