Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilya Taran.
Ilya, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My father first introduced me to photography when I was eight years old. However, it’s been quite some time until I was completely taken in by the camera’s ability to capture slices of time and emotions and I never looked back since then. My approach to wedding photography is a combination of documentary and fine art style influenced by a moment, emotion, scenery, light and color – powerful tools for me.
With extensive experience traveling and photographing, hands down California is my most favorite place. I fell in love with the weather, the land, and the people along with the diverse culture of California, all of it made me feel at home. When I am not taking pictures most of the time you can find me hiking or playing tennis, catching up on my favorite book or hanging out with my family and friends. In eight years, my work has been featured on many leading blogs and printed in wedding magazines.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
We are man and wife team, we decided to build Wedding Nature Photography together because telling stories through photographs inspires us, working side-by-side fulfills us and getting to photograph happy, in love couples is a pretty awesome way to make a living. We are wedding photographers who love diverse light, capturing raw emotions and documenting real moments for our amazing clients on their wedding day! We believe that weddings should be beautiful and that the most captivating part of the day should be the clearly evident love between the couple because love is the true reason for celebration.
We believe in not holding back from the big emotions during a big day, we believe that the images from the wedding should show the connection the couple share, the family they love and the moments they will never forget. Our love of wedding photography is fueled by the desire to capture the nature of humanity, interpersonal relationships, and emotion. There is no environment richer in these elements than a wedding.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
It is clear that artists have many different roles, but no matter what medium they use or style they explore, they all share the same purpose, to create art. It can make bold raw statements that are sometimes beautiful or challenging. There is no denying that art can offer us an insight into a culture that we would otherwise have no knowledge of. We believe that the role of the artist is to change the world.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
