Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordyn Vargas.
Jordyn, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’m from a small town in Central Valley, lived in Los Angeles for a few years and ended up moving down to north county. I’ve been into making music since high school. Thanks to a band called New Found Glory, that was my first musical influence to get into playing guitar. Later, I expanded from pop punk influences to different genres. Mainly influenced by Eisley, Say Anything, Dashboard Confessional etc.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art form is creating music, I love writing more relatable songs about relationships and I’m very open about my life in my music. I want to connect with people and to let the audience know if they’re going through a bad time, someone can relate and be there for them even in just a song. My influence does this for me and I’d love to be that song for someone else.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
I’m still learning as well but don’t take one bad show as a personal attack, everyone has bad days so don’t let it get you down.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can check out my music on Instagram, Facebook and Spotify. Just search Heartbeat Dupree and I’m there! I always post my shows and new covers up on Instagram.
