Check out Josh Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Lewis.

Josh, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Growing up, I was fascinated and could not stop watching youtube videos of 90’s band performances, such as The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. I started out my musical career doing charity talent shows, singing and dancing choreographed dances along to 90’s pop and rock songs. I then started to produce my own music with some friends, mainly hip hop songs. I realized I liked being on the stage and in the light more than just producing in the background. Then JLewmusic was born! I strive to bring fun and entertaining 90’s pop music style to a modern setting. As of today, I have performed for a school prom at Sea World along with numerous talent shows, and private shows. I am currently finishing rehearsal for my largest show on July 11th at The Irenic in North Park.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I pride myself in being an entertainer. I combine my great sense of humor with my musical talent to give my fans much-needed joy and entertainment in their lives. The ’90s were a fun time for music with the emergence of the modern boy band and real heavy metal. I bring a modern style of 90’s pop with choreographed dances, but instead of baggy pants and shirts, you’ll see me wearing a more modern-looking outfit.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
To be successful as an artist to have to be able to put your self out there for people to criticize you. As an artist we depend on our fans support because there wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the fans, so I am always trying to give back to my supports in any way I can because being able to give back to the ones that get you to where you want to be is true success.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
On my Instagram @jlewmusic and my Soundcloud @jlewmusicsongs. Also, people can see my work live at my show on July 11th at The Irenic.
