Check out Joshua Garcia’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Garcia.

Joshua, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I wanted to give back to the community and be a part of it. I met with a community leader for lunch, and that’s where my journey began. He asked me what I enjoyed doing most, and I named the gym, surf, traveling, art, and film. A week later he tags me on a post for an organization looking to curate a local art event. I immediately raised my hand to seize the opportunity. I met with Claudia, and we brainstormed together on the event and its curation. I was to organize and curate an art event for the community later in the year.

From that moment, I set out to curate amazing and creative artists for the event. Met a lot of amazing people with rich stories and the inspirations of their work reflected in our conversations. We had 28 artists and two art galleries participate in the first year. Live music, food trucks, and bubbles. We organized seven events in 2 years with amazing and talented artists and introduced live paint and spray to add to the experience. Live entertainment such as hula dancers, musicians, and bands perform.

This sparked the inception of InspiredLBC. This movement to share amazing and creative art to the world. To inspire them to pursue their passions and follow their curiosities. Since then have collaborated with many different organizations and creatives alike to create meaningful projects within the community and beyond.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do? Why? And what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My primary medium is film and curation. I love to story tell, capture moments, and curate events. Please check out on my Instagram for reference. I have also explored other mediums of art creation. I have done paintings, murals, installations, podcasts, and events.

The message I have for everything I do is to live inspired. Find that thing that you love (it doesn’t have to be art) and pursue it whole-heartedly.

How can artists connect with other artists?
Find your tribe. Create a community. We did so here, and only amazing things have been coming out. It’s great to create alone. It’s fun to create together. I’d say, don’t be afraid to reach out, you’d be surprised.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
