Check out Kacey Arreola’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kacey Arreola.

Kacey, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’m so new to this, it’s still hard to think of myself as an “artist”. I’m just your average California girl, born in Palm Springs and raised in Lake Arrowhead. A massage therapist and rescue dog enthusiast working a 9 to 5 office job. I’ve always loved taking photos but I’m a realist and never imagined it could be more than a hobby until I spent some time with a photographer last year. Her story, her passion, and her work really inspired me. I started an Instagram, did some portrait sessions for a few friends and then started booking actual jobs. I’m still so new and it can be intimidating, but the excitement and feedback of your clients when they see their photos is definitely motivation to keep going.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a hopeless romantic, so I’m inspired by love. Whether it’s the love between two people in an engagement shoot, the love of beauty in a portrait session, or the unconditional love of my dogs when I’m chasing them around the house to take their photo. I love raw and candid moments shot in real and moody tones. My goal in any session and on this journey, I’ve started is to capture that love in the pictures I take.

The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
I’ll let you know when I’m done struggling! This is all still new to me, the only advice I can think of is take the leap like I did.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can find me on Instagram, with a million other photographers all trying to get our work out there.
