Today we’d like to introduce you to Python P.
Python P, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am from Compton, California. I Went to Carson High with Ab-soul, Moosa (TDE Manager), Keem (schoolboy manager).
After high school, me and Ab-soul reconnected two years after and have been right by his side deeply involved with his early career before signing with TDE, which was 2006. When his mom kicked him out of the house, and he came and lived with me at mines in 2007, the bond we created was a brother like, and it has been that ever since.
I started making beats 2011 when my cousin and fellow PakkMusic Producer NorthStarTheGod introduced me to a program called Reason which I still use to this day. The moment I got into making beats, I knew my passion was found. Long story short I Created PakkMusic as a production collective. From then it turned into a brand and then turned into a full-fledged label once we started getting noticed and professional in this game.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My music is my art. My production is a reflection of what I like to listen to, which is dark meaningful content over boombap or high energy beats. As long as the content has meaning and not empty or cliche, then I can rock with you regardless of your genre.
My message is being fearless of establishing your own sound as a producer and not following or chasing the artist sound too much because that is how you get lost in who you are as an artist.
I hope people take away from my art, in the same manner, I did when I heard my total inspiration which was Odd Future and Earl sweatshirt Which was, ” Oh we can make beats like this”!!
What you should know about my artwork is that it’s unique and you will always know thats my beat by my unique sound.
How can artists connect with other artists?
The more you are skilled in your craft. The more you will feel comfortable with working with other artist and find out how fulfilling it is.
