Check out Nicole Keel’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Keel.

Nicole , we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Photography is something that has always drawn me in. Even when I was young and before I could afford any real equipment, I was the girl carrying around a disposable camera making sure to capture every memory I could. I felt like it was a way to freeze that moment in time, and then when I was able to develop the film, I could recall every emotion and detail as if it had just happened. As my life continued to move forward, and I was fortunate to meet my better half, I soon realized the importance of bringing this same experience to my wedding day. It was soon after that I was able to finally invest in myself, and taking classes to perfect this passion of mine. The more I learned, the more I loved it, and the happier it made me when I could see that my clients felt the same way about their special moments. Knowing that I have the ability to let others’ memories live on for a lifetime and even more importantly, to bring a smile to their face, means the world to me! This is why I do what I do!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I capture love in it’s purist form – from pure human emotion. Whether its a bride and groom sharing a private moment on their big day, or that moment when a new mom meets her child for the first time. These things can’t be staged or scripted, they are real human moments that deserve to be captured and shared so that they can live on. I love being able to share this with my clients and see them love the images as much as I do.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
We are lucky today because the online communities allow artists to share and grow together more than we ever could before. And we can do this across the country or even the world!! Before, you had to rely on local events for networking which is always fun, but now our connections can be so much further!

Even though we have the ability to connect, I wouldn’t say things are “easier” for artists. You are still at the discretion of the rest of the community and the world and everyone always has an opinion! You have to remember who you are and what you do and stay true to that no matter what others opinion might be!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I have a website that I try to keep as updating as possible but my blog or my instagram account are where you can always see my latest work! To support my work -just spread my name!!! Referrals are the best way for me to continue to do what I love to do!
