Check out Nila Buchanan’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nila Buchanan.

Nila, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I picked up my first camera and basics back in high school and now fast forward I can’t live without my Canon! I learned quickly that memories will fade but images are forever. I started off taking pictures of my children and family and that peaked an interest in wanting to capture quality images of others. As of this year, I found a huge interest and passion in photographing “in love” couples and beautiful weddings. So, my journey continues to grow and I learn something new from every occasion. More about myself, more about others, and more about life!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I enjoy photographing couples and their stories. I want my images to display earthy tones and the couples warm and moody love for one another. I enjoy engaging with couples and leading them out of their comfort zones for those candid and natural shots. I want my viewers to feel as if they can actually feel the mood through looking at the image itself, as if they were right there as I captured it. Every session that I create is unique and will always involve an amazing adventure with it!

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
As an artist, I define success as being able to fail and getting through it coming out stronger than ever before. From where I was in the beginning of my career to where I am now, took many countless hours of trial and error, practicing day in and day out, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, meeting and networking with similar passionate artist and taking the time to educate myself on the particulars. It takes an investment of time that will be all worth it in the end. Possessing traits such as humility, confidence, and perseverance have continued to help me strive for my goals!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I have a website/blog at nilabphotography.com, and I am located on Instagram (nilabphoto.co). There will find daily updates on the recent sessions and weddings I have captured.
