Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Wells and Aja Loyd.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As young entrepreneurs we often discuss our aspirations and goals together to motivate one another to further our journey into our chosen career paths. Aja mentioned she always wanted to have a sip and paint like company and Alexis’s response of “I’ll cater desserts” was the catalyst statement that lead to the creation Taste&Paint Events. As creatives we knew we could put together beautiful events showcasing art and desserts.
Aja Cimon is an Albuquerque native artist who was raised in San Diego. She dabbles in all forms of art from painting to sculpting and anything in between. Her inspiration was drawn from the freedom of individuality.
Alexis Wells is a San Diego based pastry chef that specializes in unique artisan desserts with creative flavor profiles. She creates custom desserts that are perfectly sweet with a modern touch that add elegance to any occasion.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This is a new concept and new adventure for the two of us. Young and new in the event industry we rely on our creative talents and entrepreneurial spirits to expand our professional and consumer network. We find challenges in growing our consumer base and of course as with any small business expenses that slow down or growth. However we have seen the fruits of our hard work and only hope to continue to grow our brand. We have been blessed thus far with our events being supported by those who love what we are doing and see our vision for the community.
Looking back we would say that it hasn’t always been easy but it’s always been worthwhile.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are currently focused on expanding our name in San Diego and building a stronger customer base. Taste&Paint is a sip and paint event planning company with an eloquent twist. In lieu of the sip component we offer a taste element to appease your senses.
We host monthly curated paint events at various venues in San Diego as well as customized corporate , kid, or adult events. We take care of everything for you! The décor, the taste options and canvas images are all fully customizable to your preference and needs.
Our goal is to become a platform that showcases our talents, as well as other artists and chefs within the community. We want to provide an experience to the people that they normally wouldn’t take to give themselves.

Something surprising that most people may not know about Taste&Paint events are that, although held monthly, can be reserved for private events that can be fully tailored to your needs. Also our events are not a class but a social experience that provides a unique therapeutic experience. All the images are designed and pre-sketched by hand. We don’t focus on conformity nor a good or bad factor, we focus on the expression brought out from the heart and creative soul.
Pricing:
Each event has a specified ticket price that includes a canvas painting experience, light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres with a three course dessert tasting menu
