Check Out Andrea Raab’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Raab.

Andrea , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Creativity has always been part of who I am, even if it didn’t show up in the traditional ways. I wasn’t the person who could easily draw, sing, or paint, but I always felt the pull to create. Instead of giving up on that instinct, I leaned into what I could do—becoming crafty, hands-on, and resourceful. Over time, I discovered that creativity isn’t about fitting a mold; it’s about finding your own way to bring ideas to life.

In 2012, that belief turned into something bigger when I created Coffee & Crafts. What started as a simple idea became an annual gathering where women came together to share their talents, learn from one another, and create holiday crafts in a welcoming, relaxed environment. It wasn’t just about the projects—it was about connection, encouragement, and giving women a space to confidently use their skills. Watching those moments unfold reaffirmed how powerful creativity can be when it’s shared.

As a full-time educator, I’ve always been passionate about growth, learning, and helping others see their potential. I also knew that when the time came, I wanted my retirement chapter to be rooted in creativity and community. That vision became C&C Design—a natural evolution of everything I love. Through thoughtfully designed household items and gifts, I aim to create pieces that bring smiles, spark joy, and add meaning to everyday moments.

C&C Design was built slowly and intentionally. I believe in growing with purpose—learning as I go, refining my designs, and staying true to the heart behind the business. As I continue to grow, my goal is to expand my product offerings, reach more customers, and create even more opportunities for meaningful, handmade-inspired designs that brighten homes and lives.

At its core, C&C Design is about thoughtful creations that connect people, celebrate creativity, and remind us that joy can be found in the little things—especially when they’re made with care.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has not always been a smooth one. The road became more challenging when I decided to turn my passion into an official business. With each new step—investing in equipment, learning new tools, building a website—came unexpected obstacles and learning curves. Almost every expansion brought its own set of challenges, requiring patience, problem-solving, and resilience.

While those moments were difficult, they became some of the most meaningful parts of my journey. Each hurdle pushed me to grow, adapt, and trust myself more. Rather than discouraging me, these challenges fueled my determination to succeed. The time, effort, and perseverance I’ve invested have shown me just how capable and strong I am—and have reinforced why this business is worth building.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the owner and designer behind C&C Design, where I create thoughtful, custom and ready-made household items and gifts designed to bring joy to everyday life. I specialize in practical products with personality—items like home décor, kitchen textiles, magnets, ornaments, tote bags, and small gifts that feel personal, meaningful, and usable. Many of my designs are customizable, allowing customers to celebrate teachers, families, milestones, and special moments in a way that feels uniquely theirs.

I am known for blending creativity with intention. As a full-time educator, I naturally approach my work with care, organization, and attention to detail. Every piece I design is meant to be approachable, uplifting, and made with the end-user in mind—whether it’s a teacher gift, a holiday ornament, or an item meant to brighten someone’s home. I’m especially proud of building this business slowly and thoughtfully, learning each step along the way, and staying true to my original goal of creating items that make people smile.

What sets C&C Design apart is the heart behind the work. My business grew from years of bringing women together through creativity with Coffee & Crafts, and that sense of connection still drives everything I do. I don’t chase trends—I focus on timeless, feel-good designs that serve a purpose and tell a story. I take pride in my hands-on process, my willingness to adapt and learn, and my commitment to growing in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

Most of all, I’m proud of the journey and the growth that came with it. Building C&C Design has required patience, flexibility, and a willingness to learn along the way. Each challenge has helped shape not only the business, but also my confidence as a creator and business owner. This work reflects who I am: a creator, an educator, and someone who values thoughtful design, meaningful connections, and creating pieces that can truly brighten someone’s day.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are centered on steady, intentional growth. I plan to continue expanding C&C Design through both my website and in-person markets, allowing the business to grow naturally while staying true to the style and values behind my work. I’m excited to keep developing the designs I’m currently creating, while also branching into wooden pieces and layered designs that add a new dimension to my product line.

Looking ahead, I would like to offer more customer-requested and custom designs as the business grows. While custom work is currently limited, my long-term goal—when I am able to focus on C&C Design full time—is to expand that side of the business and create more personalized pieces for customers. Overall, I’m looking forward to building thoughtfully, learning along the way, and continuing to create meaningful items that connect with people and bring joy into their homes.
