Hi Angkanaporn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up among weaving waterhyacinth products because in my community, most villagers make waterhyacinth basketry after farming. My village living alongside of the river “Kwan Phayao”. It is the 1st largest freshwater lake in the north of Thailand. I understand the importance of culture and heritage along with passing these skills down from generation to generation. I wanted to be a person that would like to showcase the work of handicrafts made by the local artisans to the world and let everyone know that there are the beautiful handicrafts from waterhyacinths in this village, so I set up NORNOR brand and the purpose of NORNOR

1. NORNOR present artisan’s handmade product from waterhyacinth such as

Bag: beachbag, personalizes bag, bridesmaid bag, wedding bag, hotel bag, wedding favor

Home decor: basket, storage, plant pot, laundry basket, mats, placemat, rug, wine holder, plant hanger

Etc; hat, sandal, scratching cat, dog’s bed….. or everything that you can design and order

2. Thai home products for helping my local to have work.

3. A portion of the proceeds go towards scholarships and community

4. Eco-friendly bag is Greenbag for Greenword

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The little problem is that during the rainy season, the bags will dry out late. Due to the need for sunlight to dry the bag But we can solve the problem using a solar incubator.
