Check Out Anna Mitchell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Mitchell.

Hi Anna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into women’s health started with my own.

In my early twenties, I was struggling with PCOS, stubborn weight changes, hormonal symptoms, and the frustration of feeling like I was doing everything “right” without getting the results I wanted. The advice I kept receiving was usually some version of eat less, exercise more, or take medication to manage the symptoms. But I knew there had to be more to the story.
That curiosity became the foundation of my career. I studied Health and Wellness Promotion for my undergraduate degree and began to study Masters of Public Health, while continuing to dive deeper into hormones, metabolic health, nutrition, and the root causes behind the symptoms so many women experience.

Eventually, I turned that knowledge into a coaching business focused on helping women understand what is actually happening inside their bodies rather than constantly fighting against them.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with hundreds of women and hear their stories. Again and again, I saw intelligent, motivated women blaming themselves because another diet, workout plan, supplement, or medication hadn’t worked. What they were often missing wasn’t more discipline. They needed to understand the underlying hormonal, metabolic, and lifestyle factors influencing their health.

That became the foundation of my root-cause approach and ultimately inspired my new book, Finally: The Truth About Your Hormones, Your Health, and Why Nothing Has Worked Until Now.

Today, my mission is much bigger than helping women lose weight or “balance their hormones.” I want women to understand their bodies well enough to advocate for themselves, make informed decisions about their health, and create a lifestyle where feeling healthy, confident, and energized doesn’t require their entire life to revolve around wellness.

The book feels like the culmination of everything I wish I had understood when I first started this journey, and everything I’ve learned from the women I’ve been fortunate enough to help along the way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not, but I think the challenges are what ultimately shaped both my work and the message behind my book.

Personally, one of the biggest struggles was spending years feeling like I was doing everything “right” with my health and still not getting the results I wanted. I was disciplined, active, and educated about health, yet I was still struggling with PCOS, hormonal symptoms, weight fluctuations, and feeling disconnected from my body. It was frustrating to realize that simply trying harder wasn’t the answer.

Building a business has had its own challenges. Entrepreneurship has required me to constantly evolve, take risks, make mistakes, and learn how to trust myself when there isn’t a clear roadmap. There have been incredible highs, but also seasons where things didn’t work, I questioned my direction, or I had to completely rethink the way I was doing things.

One of the biggest lessons in both my health and my career has been that more effort isn’t always the answer. Sometimes you have to stop forcing what isn’t working, understand the root cause, and be willing to take a different approach.

That idea has become a huge part of how I live my life, how I coach women, and ultimately, why I wrote *Finally*.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work sits at the intersection of women’s health, hormones, nutrition, and behavior change. I specialize in helping women, particularly those struggling with PCOS and hormonal or metabolic challenges, understand the root causes behind symptoms like stubborn weight, low energy, irregular cycles, cravings, and feeling like their body is working against them.

What I’m probably most known for is challenging the idea that women simply need to eat less and exercise more. My approach looks at the whole person. Hormones, blood sugar, stress, sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, and even a woman’s relationship with her body can all influence the results she is seeing.

I’m most proud of the women who come to me feeling frustrated or defeated by their bodies and eventually reach a place where they understand themselves again. Of course, seeing physical transformations is incredibly rewarding, but watching a woman regain her confidence, energy, and trust in her body is even more meaningful.

Writing *Finally* is an extension of that mission. I wanted to take what I’ve learned through my education, my own health journey, and years of working directly with women and make it accessible to far more women than I could ever coach one-on-one.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I might be biased, but I have to say *Finally!* I wrote this book because it contains so much of what I wish I had known earlier about my body, hormones, health, and the way we approach wellness as women.

Beyond that, I’m constantly learning. I love books and podcasts on women’s health, personal development, psychology, business, and longevity. I’m a big believer that doing your best in life comes from staying curious, continuing to evolve, and being willing to question what you thought you knew.

But if I’m recommending one resource to start with, of course I’m going to say *Finally!*
