Check Out Ashley Herold’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Herold.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always had a pull toward massage therapy, just being able to help people find relief in their time of need. I started right after high school and have been massaging for 15 years. I worked at a spa in. Carlsbad for 12 years and then COVID hit, and we went into shutdown for 6 months. During that time, I had a lot to reflect on and found that I was feeling like I wanted to do more. After going back to the spa, I realized I wanted to open my own space. So, I went on the hunt, and come July of 2021 I opened up my very own special place. That I named Day Dream because it was a huge dream of mine to own my own space to create the escape I wanted for my clients.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think everyone has their own journey to go on or down. And I definitely had my own bumps in the road but without having any of those, I would have ever had the strength, courage, or passion to bring my dream into a reality.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I believe that makes my place and myself unique is the individual approach I take with each client. My favorite thing about what I do is that my clients typically come in with an issue due to years of repetitive use from work or sports (this is for bodywork), and we focus on that and we work through a plan that helps them not only in the treatment room but also at home. I will suggest stretches, CBD cream, and work adjustments for their everyday life to help them between treatments. For my skincare clients, we focus on not just the surface but also what is going on internally to better help them get the results they want to achieve. I am always excited to take a little extra time with my clients to help them tailor their treatment to themselves rather than be a generic massage or facial. I will say it was not easy to get where I am today. It was a lot of hard work and dedication. I always had people believing in me, but I still had to come over some major hurtles. I had to dig very deep and believe in myself and to truly look inward and grow in areas that I felt where my weaknesses.

I have learned that to be a success and to be proud of who you are and what you do, you have to take time for others whether it be co-workers, clients, or family, and truly listen to them and feel them and not just try to move to the next step quickly. Life is always going to throw you something your way and if you don’t take the time to slow down and really be in the moment you will miss what life is trying to tell you.

I want the world to know that there is someone out there that will take the time to listen to them and try their hardest to help them out with a treatment plan tailored to their needs.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Lol I pretty open with my clients, so I feel that they know so much about me. I tend to develop deep connection with my clients so let’s see here. I love to blast my music and sing to it every chance I get when I am outside of work. I am in a small room with a quite setting all day so when I am done for the day or my days off, I love to be as loud as possible lol. Also, everyone asks this is who is your massage therapist? And unfortunately, I don’t have the time to go into somewhere, but I am lucky enough to say my boyfriend is. He is not a massage therapist, but he gives a great massage and knows the muscles very well that he is definitely gifted to.
