Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradley Evarts.
Hi Bradley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We opened*Opened our first restaurant CILANTROS -a Southwest Restaurant & Marketplace in 1987. In 1989 we opened Epazote-a Baja Bar and Grill. We have always had a love for Southwestern/Mexico inspired dishes. We attended have taken culinary classes over the years with Diane Kennedy, Mark Miller Patricia Quintana aka “taste of Mexico”, Robert Del Grande, John Stedlar, Mark Peel, & Brendan Walsh. Our desire to create another culinary dining experience do it again in beautiful Solana Beach, bringing back our tried tested and true “farm to table southwestern cuisine kitchen led us to ALCE 101.. coupled with our vast knowledge and love for the tequila and mezcal made it a match made in agave heaven. Come in and explore the experience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Normal business challenges however, we actually love the business. It’s in our DNA.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The restaurant business is a celebration, a place for people to gather with great drinks, food, music, art and vibe. That’s our attraction to it. We love art, music and people. Perfect fit. Celebrate!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Plenty. Bad luck, tough experiences, lead us to positive awesome learning lessons. This makes us better as operators and people in general. This venture has been total serendipity. No coincidences; I do not believe in them.
