Today we’d like to introduce you to Byron Morgan.
Byron, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a rapper/entrepreneur out of Southern California. I grew up out here so I’m definitely got so much love for the city. My parents are both from the south (Indiana and Louisiana) which is a completely different lifestyle than California but I’ve took some of those qualities from both and it’s definitely made me the person I am today.
Currently, I’m a manager in the retail but still make the time to pursue my music career and run my apparel business which is L.S.P(Love, Success, Progress) and I’m sure you can imagine how busy this keeps me but I love the hustle. I see so much potential in this music and apparel business that I know if I continue to build in the way I’m going, it will only go up from here.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish I could say it’s always been smooth. There’s always challenges in life but it’s always how you get thru those battles that will define the person you are. In this business from music to apparel, you put your money into things you believe will help the brand but sometimes they don’t go as plan. But I’ve always found lessons in the losses I’ve took and that’s what has made my decisions so much more precise and calculated because of experience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So at the moment, I create music and help design, promote and run my apparel business LSP which stands for Love, Success and Progress.
When it comes to music, I’ve been writing all my life but usually more on the poetic side. But as I got older, I realized music is poetry in its own sense and what really made me pursue the music was just how much I’ve been told my voice sounds so good. I mean it happens so often it almost seemed like it was destined for me to make this music and put my voice to good use. The pandemic really gave me the time to be able to “lock in” and learn the ins and outs of music and creating the sound I want. This year is really starting to look promising so stay tuned for the come up.
As far as the apparel side, I always knew I’ve had this idea of going into an apparel side of the business not just for branding but just overall always thinking about owning my own. I’ve been talking for years on starting a brand and it just took me being able to take the courage to do it. I’m proud of the place we are at and the direction we are going plus I have been receiving nothing but positive feedback on the meaning and the message of the brand.
Any big plans?
Biggest thing I can say to this is there are so many big moves in place and now it’s time to execute them and get the most out of them. I can’t speak on them too much but if you follow the journey I guarantee you won’t be disappointed by the progress!
