Today we’d like to introduce you to Cascade Effect.
Hi Cascade, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Cascade Effect isn’t just a name; it’s the pattern by which this band was built on. A cascade effect is what happens when one spark creates a ripple that multiplies instead of fading. That’s been the story from the beginning: every decision, every chance meeting, every new member added more weight until the wave became impossible to ignore.
Vocalist Dustin Keimig and drummer Seth Roscamp, both former members of San Diego’s Aghori, refused to let the end of one chapter be the end of their story. They started writing again, pulling in bassist Bobby Fernandez (Symbolic), guitarist Shaun Frude (Aghori, The Abuse), and guitarist Alec Peterson (Naranaca, Door 13, Groove is in the Heart). Each addition didn’t just round out the lineup, it amplified the vision, shaping a sound rooted in Groove Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Nu Metal, Deathcore, and Progressive Metal. The result is an epic sound that’s heavy, melodic, and unrelenting.
Since forming in 2023, that ripple has grown into a surge:
• Wacken Metal Battle USA Champions (2024)
• Represented the U.S. at Wacken Open Air in Germany
• San Diego Music Awards Nominee for Best Rock/Indie/Alternative Song
• Played RiveraFest (Oregon, 2025)
• Shared stages with Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, Sylosis, Escape the Fate, and (hed) PE
• Released singles “God Particle”, “Fear Romancer”, “Suffering in Silence” & “Dirge”.
From the smallest local stages to the largest international stages, Cascade Effect is living proof that even the smallest spark can turn into something massive when the wave keeps building.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most bands, Cascade Effect has faced its share of obstacles, but each one has shaped us. The biggest challenge came at the very start. When our previous projects ended, it would’ve been easy to walk away. Instead, we refused to let the end of one chapter be the end of our story. Starting from scratch meant rebuilding everything: lineup, sound, and identity, while carving out a place in a crowded scene.
On top of that, the grind is real. Balancing careers, wives, kids, and day-to-day life while putting everything into the band takes constant sacrifice. Money and time are always tight, and standing out among millions of other acts means we can never coast. Every show is a fight, not just to perform, but to promote, to pull people in, and to make sure they leave remembering our name.
But those challenges became part of the fuel. They pushed us to write harder, play tighter, and give more onstage. They drove us to take risks like entering the Wacken Metal Battle, risks that led to winning, representing the U.S. in Germany, and earning a San Diego Music Award nomination.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Cascade Effect is built on heavy, melodic, and thought-provoking music. We pull from Groove Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Nu Metal, Deathcore, and Progressive Metal to create songs that hit hard but still carry depth. Our goal has always been to blend intensity with meaning, writing music that makes you want to move, but also makes you think.
Our work extends beyond the studio and the stage. Every show is a mission to connect with people, to give them an experience they won’t forget. From the energy we bring live to the stories in our lyrics, we want fans to feel like they’re part of something bigger than just a setlist.
What makes Cascade Effect different is that we don’t shy away from the struggle behind the music. The themes we write about: loss, resilience, chaos, rebirth, are the same challenges we live through. For us, the music isn’t just performance, it’s survival, and we put that truth into every note.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
At the core of Cascade Effect, what matters most is connection. Music has always been more than sound to us, it’s a way to turn struggle into something meaningful, and to share that energy with others. Every riff, every lyric, every show is about creating a moment where people can let go, feel something real, and walk away changed, even if just a little.
What matters is building community. We know how hard it is to balance life, careers, families, and still fight for this passion. When someone comes to a show or presses play on one of our songs, we want them to feel seen in their own struggles and strength.
At the end of the day, Cascade Effect isn’t about chasing trends or numbers, it’s about leaving a mark, pushing ourselves to grow, and giving people something honest in a world that’s already full of noise.
