Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Rivera.
Chad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born on the island of Guam 😀 Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved art. Drawing, beauty, music. But I would say my heart gravitated towards music. Growing up, I’ve always wanted to be a singer and tour the world. Sharing my music and relating to those around me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road. But a calm sea never made a good sailor. Of course, I’m sad of some of the experiences I had to endure, however, I’m grateful, and I wouldn’t change a thing! I’m still growing, and I believe that staying comfortable and never taking chances doesn’t allow a person to grow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make music, and I will forever do that. But I also have a soft spot for makeup. I used to work at MAC, and ULTA, and the connections I would make with whoever sits in my chair, are the moments I cherish. On top of that, enhancing the beauty of what someone already has makes my heart happy as well.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Be yourself, as cheesy as that sounds. On top of that, showing and proving just how much of a genuine, caring, driven, and passionate person you are to people will open many doors all on its own.
