Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Lomeli.
Hi Claudia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Have you ever felt an urge for change? That’s how it all started. I had been at my job for over 10 years, and I remember only loving my job on payday and hated it for the next 14 days until the next payday. There was something in me that told me I had to make a change. I could no longer ignore that feeling of wanting change and it became an urge. I started the following year with a resolution to change jobs, that would mean leaving my comfort zone… A month later, I found a new job, and I wish I could say I found it all and that it was all amazing and super easy from there on out, but it was the total opposite, it all became uncomfortable, I wasn’t a match for that job, and I was let go. That was a pretty rough time in my life. I was getting unemployment, went back to school and slowly everything started to make sense. I got asked to take on a “temporary” role in a real estate office, and the rest is history… I discovered a newfound love=REAL ESTATE, and I am obsessed with it! Fast forward to today, I am the Director of Buyer’s Agents for the Lepe Team which is a Top Producing Real Estate team that is in the Top 1% of realtors in San Diego County. I’ve been able to help hundreds of families achieve their homeownership goals. When I’m not out-showing homes, I like to educate my community on the process and benefits of buying a home. Being a homeowner is achievable and I feel it’s my duty to guide my community in that direction. It is crazy to look back and see how my life has changed… my gut, my intuition, or whatever it was, didn’t let me stay complacent.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think the road will ever be smooth when you are an independent contractor aka a realtor. One thing I’ve learned is that growth comes with uncomfortable feelings, and every time I feel uncomfortable, I take a deep breath and think here comes growth. I never want to go back into not feeling fulfilled, so I look at every challenge with a positive outlook. A funny struggle that I went through was having to make my IG page public, haha. I’ve always had it private, and becoming a realtor, you don’t want to be a hidden Realtor, so I had to make it public, I felt so exposed (lol), but I got over it, now I’m glad strangers get to see my love for real estate and how I help families reach their real estate goals.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Real Estate agent, I help people buy and sell properties here in San Diego. I specialize in being a Buyer’s Agent, that role consists of helping families prepare and understand what the home buying process entails. I also help investors of all types by either starting a real estate portfolio or even seasoned ones that I can get Off- Market properties for. Real Estate overall is very complex, no 2 transactions are alike, and I really like that, it keeps me on my toes. For example, last year was a good year for me, I was able to help 45 families buy a home, the average agent helps 4 families per year. Joining forces with my team leader, Voltaire Lepe has taught me so much, not only about real estate sales and the practice but the real power of real estate and how one can reach wealth through it.
I feel that what sets me apart from other realtors in this industry is that I am all in. My main focus is to build long-term relationships with my clients and my colleagues. Friendships if you will. I want to be able to experience the different chapters of my clients’ lives, and homeownership is just one of them. Another thing is that I don’t treat my business like a 9-5. I make sure that I am available at all times because I understand the importance that the homebuying process holds in my clients’ lives. With that said, having time for my clients, the knowledge, and the connections to help anyone who is looking to make a real estate move is what sets me apart from other realtors.
I am mostly proud of my clients; they are truly the real MVPs. These last two years have consisted of a crazy and competitive market, and my clients didn’t take a rejected offer for an answer, they rode the different waves that this market had, and they kept going until THEE ONE said yes!
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Surprising… People call me by my IG handle: “CLO” and I kinda love it, it’s like an alter ego, it’s fun!
