Today we’d like to introduce you to D’kno Mr.Knoitall.
Hi D’kno, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up as a kid in Chicago, I was influenced by Tupac, Eminem, Twista and a few others. I would rewind the tapes while trying to write down their lyrics, in an attempt to find the patterns that made them so great within their Lyrical Delivery. I was so intrigued, that I too started trying to find my niche in rapping, and finally started my journey when I was 9 years old. From the age of 9, until now, I’ve become an artist that’s is considered to be 1 of Chicago’s dopest lyricist as well as 1 of the CEOs of Write Way Records which is currently on the rise. While being nominated for awards in Chicago’s underground music scene by the 312 Awards, The Illy Awards, and the Forever Grateful Awards, I continue to push the agenda of bringing lyricism back to the forefront of the music scene here in Chicago, as well as redirect thr mindset of our youth away from Drill Music as much as possible.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the biggest struggles along the way is jus staying focused on creating while providing for my wife and kids on a daily basis knowing that this journey will be a lengthy one. It’s takes time, money, and a ton of marketing and promo jus to push the agenda.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Supreme wordsmith. I specialize in IMPACT, delivery and clarity on any and every track that I’m on. I’m known for my ability to Freestyle fluently, and create without any writing. I’m proud to be able to influence other artists with these abilities whenever I perform or when my music is heard. What sets me apart from others is my thought process to stay away from profanity as much as possible while delivering pieces that most would use profanity on.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see myself as a succeed leader for Write Way Records as well as a successful artist for the label, to help push the agenda that we’ve created to help redirect our youth in the Music industry.
