Today we’d like to introduce you to Emilie Hall
Hi Emilie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My mother bought me my first camera and the 5th grade, the moment I picked it up I knew I couldn’t go through life without capturing moments. The moment I decided to take my passion and turn it into a business was my Junior year in College. I’m not sure what lead me to take a leap of faith but one day I just did. I reopened an old instagram that I used as a kid to share my work and started making connections! It went from doing free shoots just to build my portfolio to booking destination weddings. People always ask me why I love wedding photography so much, to me it’s not just a photo it’s Art. I’m allowed to capture moments in time that you’ll have forever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The photography community can be incredibly competitive, and building a business in this field can often feel intimidating. It’s easy to compare yourself to others and doubt your abilities. However, I’ve learned that with hard work and passion, you can carve out your own unique path. It takes time, dedication, and a willingness to learn, but if you stay focused on your vision and keep pushing forward, your dreams can become a reality. The journey may be challenging, but every step is worth it when you see your passion come to life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in wedding photography, and I love capturing love. For me, photography isn’t just about taking photos; it’s an art form. The most exciting part of my job is delivering a gallery and hearing the reactions from my clients as they relive those moments. These are memories frozen in time that you can never get back, but through these photos, you get to experience that special day all over again. The nostalgia and emotions photos give are an unspeakable feeling. It’s almost as if you get to relive the day. That’s the most beautiful aspect of what I do.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success can mean different things to different people, however, I believe the feeling of success is fulfilling one’s self, it’s authenticity, equal opportunity, the path God has allowed you to take, and the freewill to explore and see the beauty in the world.
