Check Out Hugo Grey’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hugo Grey.

Hi Hugo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Before I became a photographer, I co-owned a recording studio and managed artists/producers and co-owned a website called TripleHQ.com. I originally purchased my first camera to capture the artist I managed as well as content for the website. Life took its course with the studio and website, however, I started to feel creatively bored. So I started shooting family and friends for fun until I fell in love with this thing called Photography. It took a couple of years for me to actually make it a business and take it seriously, but the more I did photoshoots and purchased equipment the more I knew I needed to turn it into a business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I think the biggest struggle is knowing your own worth and not letting people take advantage of you. People will take all they can from you and leave you with nothing. I learned that in the music business, I didn’t realize it would happen in photography as well. I guess all is fair in love and war.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Hugo Grey Photography LLC creates digital images that creates lifelong memories. We create a space where we as people explore a body positive atmosphere to be displayed as art. If I had to say what I was “known” for when it comes to photography, I would like to say making my clients feel like they are on top of the world! I LOVE to dance during shoots and having fun. Oh and I can’t forget how my clients love when I get in the poses I ask them to do. I often say during shoots that “I’m not gonna ask you to do anything that I wouldn’t try (I say try because I can’t do a split to save my life). I think that goes the same for what sets me apart from everyone else. When I shoot, I like to direct but I also love to get the model’s concepts as well, it’s a joint venture.

When I first picked up a camera, I NEVER would have imagined that I would one day grace the pages of Vanity Fair or GQ. So at the moment, that’s what I’m most proud of when it comes to photography.

How do you think about happiness?
Family, Golf, Sunrises/Sunsets (perfect for shooting), and life.

Family is everything when all the dust clears and you’ve done all you have done in the world! The leaches are done with you and everyone takes what they want from you at the end of the day your family will be there with open arms expecting nothing but you.

Golf… JUST PLAY…

Life is a beautiful thing that all should treasure!
