Check Out Inez Robinson-Odom’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Inez Robinson-Odom.

Hi Inez, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve spent my career mentoring and coaching people from all walks of life. Whether professionals, executives, students, and parents, I’ve guided them through life’s ups and downs. My work with non-profit organizations has taught me the true meaning of service and community. I care deeply about sharing what I’ve learned, offering support, and helping others find their own path forward. This is the heart of my approach.

As Co-Author of The Silent Rebellion: Becoming a Modern Leader and an executive leadership coach, I am passionate about helping others discover their unique strengths and reach their full potential.

Throughout my career, I’ve chosen to apply my talents to media, education, social justice, research, and appreciative inquiry. With a master’s degree in Communications from Stanford University, I’ve worked in spaces that demand authenticity, academic rigor, and meaningful reflection. My journey has taken me from contributing to the landmark PBS documentary series EYES ON THE PRIZE, which explored the American civil rights movement, to producing, directing, and writing national law enforcement media training on topics such as threat assessment. I’ve also served as an educational administrator, supporting students who aspire to inspire greatness in the world around them.

Currently, as Vice President of the TEAM LEWIS Foundation, I work with the myriad causes supported by our team in the United States. I provide executive coaching, training, and culture-building for our incredible professionals. Our people truly represent the best in global marketing, digital media, and public relations. I love creating innovative learning and development programs and offering “one-on-one” coaching sessions. Mentorship calls are a favorite part of my role, giving team members a safe space to discuss challenges or concerns in detail. I use the OSCAR model of coaching to offer thoughtful, practical support.

My experience spans educational administration and media, and I’ve led enrollment, innovation, and outreach teams at prestigious schools and organizations. This was always with a focus on increasing engagement and retention. My core strengths include staff development, fundraising, event management, media relations, and youth leadership. I’m proud of my track record in creating and implementing strategic initiatives and research projects that make a real difference.

I’m also the CEO of Miss Inez’s School of Home Training and IMO Productions inezodom.com, companies dedicated to creating and sharing inspirational and educational content across multiple platforms for diverse audiences.

And just for fun, I’m a huge Star Trek fan. I care deeply about building a world where we truly optimize the human condition.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I Won’t Complain

I’ve had some good days
I’ve had some hills to climb
I’ve had some weary days
And some sleepless nights
But when I look around
And I think things over
All of my good days
Out-weigh my bad days
I won’t complain

I’m a breast cancer survivor. I managed infertility by embracing a baby in the foster care system. I lost my mother to Stage 4 brain cancer, yet we spent her final days laughing and finding new depths of love. I am managing a sister who has Parkinson’s disease. Yet, I can say that my riches in life have taken the form of friendships which are enduring and true. I have a husband who is the kindest, most loyal person on the planet. I am proud to be part of a culture that survives in the face of unimaginable hardship.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As Vice President of the TEAM LEWIS Foundation, I have the privilege of supporting TEAM LEWIS employees across the United States as they select and champion local charities each year. Our unique model empowers every employee to choose a charity close to their heart and provide a $1,000 donation annually. However, our commitment goes beyond financial support. We actively engage with each cause to explore how we can further assist.

I facilitate these relationships holistically, organizing weekly Friday brainstorm sessions where nominators introduce their chosen charities to interested colleagues. Together, we review the organization’s social media, website, and digital assets, offering practical ideas to help strengthen their presence and impact. We also host Foundation Fizz events to bring our local causes together. They share ideas and develop thoughtful ways to support one another.

It’s incredibly rewarding to serve causes in this collaborative, hands-on way. I feel truly fortunate, and my hope is that everyone who interacts with me and the Foundation feels supported, inspired, and uplifted.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Every day, being a Black woman in America requires tapping into one’s bravery. Having co-authored a book when I had never written a book before was a risk. I wondered if I would be able to produce my part. Yet, I stepped out on faith. And I leaned into fun. Risk is all about whether or not you are willing. I try my best to lean into “yes.”
