Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Kirschner.
Jacqueline, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My passion for makeup started off by watching YouTube makeup tutorials. It then grew when I took on a part-time job at MICA Cosmetics when I was just 17 years young. My passion for hair didn’t start until my family and friends suggested I start offering hairstyling services since I was always learning new hairstyles also via YouTube tutorials. I then began getting booked for prom, quinceañeras, weddings, and other special events. After three years I decided to attend Michael Vincent Academy in Downtown Los Angeles. There I learned all the necessary skills to become a better artist and be more confident with my work. I now have five years of experience as a freelance hair and makeup artist. I have worked with Vivian Lamolli star of East Los High and have attended several events with beauty gurus I have looked up to since the very beginning of my career.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a hair and makeup artist. I create endless looks and styles for all skin tones, hair types, ages, genders, and events. I am a hair and makeup artist because I love seeing my client’s faces light up after a first glance in the mirror when I am done enhancing their naturally beautiful features. Having a job that gives so much and means so much to others is a very special thing to me. That is the fuel for my passion! I hope people can look at my work and feel inspired. I want them to want to recreate it. I pour my heart and soul into what I do.
How can artists connect with other artists?
Never be afraid to reach out to artists in your area or any part of the world and let them know that you’d love to connect with them. Search for artist pods, groups, and pages via social media. There’s always someone looking to connect and be friends too!
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
