Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Burns
Hi Jennifer , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into healing through Art and the blossoming of my business Healing Art by Jen began in the most unexpected way. I began painting with my children for fun. What started as a simple, playful activity turned into a profound discovery. With each piece that was created I found myself tapping into emotions and memories I had long buried. It wasn’t painting for me; it was a portal to parts of myself I had to bury and hide and had been too afraid to explore. Growing up, I endured significant trauma and abuse, experiences that left deep emotional scars. Traditional therapy while helpful for others was not resonating with me in a way I hoped. I often felt stuck and unable to express the weight of my pain. It wasn’t until I combined Art with the healing power of Crystals that I began to see and feel a shift in me.
Each Crystal I worked with seemed to amplify the energy of my creative process. Amethyst brought me deep healing, rose quartz softened my self perception and self love, and black obsidian made me feel grounded and safe. Together, art and crystals created a unique space where I could process my pain in ways words never could. Painting then became my therapy. With every finished piece I unlocked pieces of my past, giving myself permission to feel, release and heal. The act of creating became a form of meditation for me. A sacred time to allow myself to connect with my spirit and reclaim my power. This journey has been transformative, not only for me but for others I have been able to work with and teach. As I deepened my practice, I began sharing this healing modality with others. Teaching others to combine art and crystals has been an incredible experience. Watching people connect with their own emotions and discover their own strength, and find peace through this process has been profoundly rewarding. Sharing my art and witnessing its impact has brought me immense joy and fulfillment. It is a beautiful reminder of how powerful we can be to each other.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an artist and trying to build a business around my passion has been both rewarding and challenging. While creating art brings me peace and joy, the journey selling my pieces and sharing what I do has tested my resilience. It is not just about making something beautiful but rather it is about finding the courage to put a piece of your soul out into the world, hoping it resonates with others. There are many times of self-doubt, financial uncertainty and the struggle to stand out in a crowded market with other talented artists. But despite all the challenges, I have learned that being true to myself and persevering the reward in all of this lies in connecting with those who see and feel the heart behind my work.

My custom Crystal resin art is a true reflection of my passion and healing journey. Each piece is a labor of love. Blending resin with carefully selected crystals and embellishments to create meaningful artwork. My creations range from vibrant paintings to intricate cheeseboards to specialized shapes that bring beauty and intention into everyday life. I have also begun working with furniture like coffee tables, side tables and more. I also offer one-on-one private classes and group paint and sip parties sharing my techniques and encouraging others to explore their own creativity. What sets me apart is my ability to connect deeply with others, sharing not just the art itself but the heartfelt process behind it. Building a business from this kind of passion has been one of my proudest achievements.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The most important quality to my success would have to be my authenticity. My ability to share my journey of healing so openly and share my passion for creativity and healing combined with my genuine connection with others has been amazing and powerful. By allowing myself to be open about all of my struggles, triumphs and my creative process so far has not only created meaningful art but also I believe has inspired and empowered others to explore their own healing and self expression. Authenticity allows me to build trust and foster meaningful connections and I have been able to create a business that resonates deeply with others. This quality combined with my resilience and passion for healing is the foundation of my success.
