Today we’d like to introduce you to Kurtis Meadows Jackson.
Hi Kurtis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Nothing happens overnight, but I do not plan on turning back. Photography has always been something I wanted to dive into, but never knew where to start. I guess I can say if it wasn’t for me having friends that made a career from photography, I still would not know where to start and I would not have pushed myself far. In the beginning, it was just a hobby, I really love the art behind photography. After learning and practicing day by day, I saw the opportunities that photography had to offer, and that changed everything.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road, but it hasn’t been the worst. With photography not being my main source of income, I think a lot of the stress that comes with it doesn’t rub off on me as much since I can take things a little slower whenever I start to doubt myself. It does keep me from reaching my goals though and I’m working on fixing that. I do not think anything in life should be a smooth road because it doesn’t teach you anything. Everyone has their ups and downs. It can be a lesson to do better or it can push you to quit. I’m not giving up!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m just proud of myself for taking that step to get out in the world. I mainly focus on photography at the moment and will jump into doing videos down the line. I shoot portraits, cars, products, and whatever other ideas are thrown at me. Only way to expand is to learn new things.
