Check Out Marylin Muro’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marylin Muro.

Hi Marylin , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story began when I was a little girl, my dad was a huge film enthusiast and he gifted me my first camera. I began created films on iMovie with my cousins and continued it as I got older by capturing special moments from family trips. When it came time to choose a career path I took a chance in cinema and went to a film school in san Diego.

I learned all the technicalities to filmmaking and the arts, I fell in love with it but I never really believed I could make a living from cinema. So, I did what I thought would be a great middle ground and marketed myself as a social media creator and media manager. I made a lot successes in my business and created a name for myself in my town after graduation. I was the videographer of the town, shaking hands with the Mayor, city councils, and many local businesses. It seemed like I had achieved all my dreams but in reality it was never my dream to work for business people but with artists.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I always found myself trapped in the same challenges and set backs being that I was a cinematographer hiding behind the face of a content creator. I never really fit in with the media people because I was too advanced in my filmmaking abilities for what most companies were looking for. I found myself constantly unfulfilled.

Then I began to chase my artist dreams and found myself happier than ever. I learned that by pouring my heart into what I love that hole in my heart was quickly filled and I no longer was searching in the wrong places. The difficulties come when you start something new but as you find a groove it gets easier and easier to do what you are meant to do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I offer services to anyone looking to tell their story through a creative lens. I work to make each package deal custom to each client. I take the time to hear what they love about their business so I can learn best how to help my client to my fullest ability.

My qualifications range from commercial to creative to corporate, my company “Impact Visuals Media” has allowed me to work with all kinds of companies. I have experience in social media marketing, content creation, Filmmaking, cinematography, directing, producing, editing, broadcasting, camera operation, wedding videos, event coverage, music coverage, even technical work with live events. I am a jack of all trades but if I had to choose my favorite it would be cinematography for creative companies or storytellers like myself.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Happiness is something that has been overseen in today’s society because the goal now a days isn’t happiness but status and money. My newest journey is to encourage others to chase their dreams and never believe that It is too late to start again. To help people see the potential in themselves and realize that happiness is very important in life.
