Check Out Mauricio Lopez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mauricio Lopez.

Hi Mauricio, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I always knew I wanted to do something connected to being an artist. In my mind, that meant telling stories. I’ve always been drawn to the details in everyday life and the meaning behind our experiences. My first love was music, but eventually I discovered the art of seeing. Picking up a camera allowed me to capture moments that mattered to me, moments that challenged me to think, observe, and create. Always eager to preserve to valuable moments.
Along the way, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with incredibly talented people who share the same passion: creating powerful stories that look beautiful and while having fun doing it. It hasn’t been an easy road, but it has absolutely been worth it; the people I’ve met, the places I’ve seen, and the memories I’ve made.
Today, I work as a commercial photographer while also taking on different roles in the production industry. Each project teaches me something new, helping me grow not just as an artist, but as a person.

Everything started since I was a kid. I was always surrounded by art, music, culture, food and a lot of great role models that guide me and inspired me. when I grew up I went to school for music but because of different circumstances and my curiosity and my need to acquire new skills I jump into the photography department where I obtained a certificate for professional photography and later on explored art design and film.
After school I started as a photography assistant where I develop my lighting and gripping skills even more. I worked with really talented people that polish my attention to detail as well as my ways to problem solve. parallel to that and
while I was building my career and trying to grasp on something with a stable income I work in the restaurant and coffee industry where I learned a lot of soft skills as well as organizational skills that help me build my own business. right now I work as a freelance photographer while still covering various roles in production helping creatives reach their vision as well as making sure my own vision come to life.
it has been a rollercoaster of experiences but I will never give up the opportunity to learn and experience the joy of constantly working on my dreams and learning new ways to be creative and kind to others.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think running your own business is often romanticized these days. What people don’t always see are the financial and emotional ups and downs that come with that decision. There are doubts, self-comparisons, lack of experience, and most of all, the constant fear of failure following you around. But once you learn, adapt, and push you get to the place where you see thing as an learning opportunity and investment more than unfortunate moment .
For me, it’s an everyday struggle and I think for many others too. It’s about waking up each day and pushing yourself a little harder, finding ways to do things better, and keep going even when it feels difficult.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a creative person that creates and capture moments. I like to tell stories and help others share their own through imagery. I mainly shoot the 3 Ps, Products, People and Personal projects, but my lens is always looking for anything interesting with a cool story behind it.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’m thankful for all the people who have taken the time to know me, understand me, and support me as well as for those who have shared even a small part of their time with me. The list is long, but I’m grateful for everyone who, in one way or another, planted a seed in me and made me question how I think, feel, and see the world. That includes my family, friends, mentors, the people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and even those I’ve only crossed paths with briefly.

I believe we find each other for a reason, to help us see what we need to see, and to remind us that we’re here not just for ourselves, but to help one another.
