Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Schaffer.
Hi Michelle , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a Bartender all my life since the week turning 21 ,
I was a young mom of 3 ,fast money was all I had on my mind !
Well 25 years later ! Kids are grown moved out and finally I had the choice to leave the Bar world !!
So I put my notice in to leave one of the best Bars I’ve ever worked at !
Little did I know I couldn’t get my head out of that bar world …
, I just couldn’t see my self dealing with drunks again so I would stay up late doin research on something I would love !
I came across a few ladies in Montana & Texas creating art on hats !
I decided to take a few of my western hats I had for years since I’m a country lovin fool !!
I went to hobby lobby and grabbed a few things to doll my hats up , I posted them and got so many compliments
So I decided to buy cowgirl hats and sell them to a few people asking for gifts or for them selfs !
The research was on going,late nights ,early mornings. So many things I wanted to learn about making hats !!
I made my self a instagram , named my small business
HEY GIRL WESTERN HAT BAR
I started to post house party’s traveling hat bar !
I was hooked after my first hat party !!!
It felt like I was bartending again but with out the drunks that would yell at u ,
Now with a hat bar I meet so many amazing ladies who love to create their own personal cowgirl hat !!
Now I do art on hats with branding tools and I am teaching my self to shape hats from the base !!
Also I make cowhide hand bags and cowhide key chains for my pop up shops to sell at !!
I am a pop up vender at most SD rodeos & a few country festivals!!!!!
It’s been over 2 years now and I have so many ideas to add to my hat bars !!
One day I hope to open a “cowgirl country boutique “with a full hat bar with bar seats
Where anyone can come and create a beautiful cowgirl hat with feathers , charms ,wild flowers and more !!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Actually I feel it’s been a great ride !!!
I put my mind to it and thankfully it’s been all goin my way !

I am a country western hat traveling designer
I design beautiful hats for ladies and gentlemen!

I use 100 percent wool cowgirl hats …
No cheap hats !!
What are your plans for the future?
I have a plan to open a hat bar boutique!!
Still travel for Rodeos and house partys also weddings !!
