Check Out Natalia Relic’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Relic.

Hi Natalia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story begins in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, where I was born and raised. During early childhood, my family moved to Belgrade, Serbia, so that is where I spent my early adolescence. I decided to move back to the U.S. for college, which was something I hadn’t originally envisioned for myself. Returning to Los Angeles turned out to be one of the best and most important decisions I’ve ever made! While working at a local bakery in Westwood (Elysee — highly recommend it!), I began applying to universities and was accepted to UC San Diego. UCSD completely reshaped my professional perspective. It’s where my interest in science grew into a passion for biotech and public health. Surrounded by people who were driven to make a difference, I realized that I wanted to dedicate my career to improving healthcare and helping the world. Along the way I met more incredible people who shared the same motivation to make healthcare more accessible and effective. Today, I work at Sun Vectors, a stealth-mode biotech company in San Diego. Outside
of work and learning, I enjoy hiking, practicing yoga, and traveling.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Moving between countries and cultures at a young age has often made me feel caught between two worlds, unsure of where I truly belonged. Over time I realized that this global perspective became one of my greatest strengths. It’s interesting how the things that once made you feel different can become your biggest advantages. Living in different places taught me how to adapt quickly and connect with people from all backgrounds and perspectives.
What made the difficult moments easier was having my sisters, Andriana and Sofia, by my side. We shared similar experiences, and being able to talk openly and support each other made all the difference.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work in business operations and development at Sun Vectors, a stealth-mode startup in San Diego. Our company takes a unique approach to addressing the challenges of gene therapy, with a mission to make treatments more accessible and affordable — to everyone under the sun! What I love most is the teamwork. I get to collaborate with brilliant, driven people, and it feels like a second family that’s always ready to support one another and believes in the impact we’re creating. I’m proud to combine my passion and skills to help build solutions that can change the world for the better.
