Hi Ninfa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started tattooing 6 years ago. I was in a rough situation and I was a single mom with nothing in my name. It was just right timing for me. I’m a painter before a tattoo artist so the art scene was just so good to me during that period. I was broken and art gave me the strength to pick up the pieces. I have the sweetest clients, a lot of who know of my situation and are patient. Here I am 6 years later, single full time mom running a business part time that pays for my comfortable lifestyle. I’m blessed.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is perfect, I’m providing a service that can change with style, individual. The first 2 years weren’t great, I had a lot of people asking for discounts when I was already charging low. There was many times I had to remind myself quality over quantity. It takes you years to know how to filter clientele, and to learn how to value your effort and time. My best work is on clients who I feel the most support from.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Getting a scholarship for the museum of art when I was 11. I remember being one of the youngest ones there and getting lost in the vibe of it all. I was like this is so cool.
