Check Out Nolan Parmenter’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nolan Parmenter.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoyed building things from the ground up. My journey with Radiate started pretty simply. I saw an opportunity in real estate media to create something that combined my background in marketing with my interest in photography, video, and real estate.

I started Radiate Real Estate Media by doing a lot of the work myself. I was photographing properties, flying the drone, shooting video, editing, communicating with clients, and figuring out the business side as I went. In the beginning, the goal was really just to provide great work and build relationships with local real estate agents.

Over time, word of mouth and those relationships helped the business grow. As we took on more properties, I realized that if I wanted Radiate to become more than just a job I had created for myself, I needed to start building a team and developing systems that could deliver the same level of quality and service without me personally handling every part of every shoot.

Today, Radiate serves real estate agents, teams, brokerages, and vacation rental companies throughout San Diego County. We provide photography, videography, drone, 3D tours, floor plans, social media content, and other marketing assets designed to help properties and agents stand out.

We’re still very much in the building stage, which is one of the things I enjoy most about it. I’m constantly learning, improving our systems, growing our team, and figuring out how we can serve our clients better. My goal is to continue building Radiate into a trusted real estate media company in San Diego while staying focused on the relationships and quality of work that helped us grow in the first place.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but I think that’s part of building any business.

One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to grow beyond doing everything myself. In the beginning, I could personally control almost every part of the client experience. As Radiate grew, I had to learn how to hire the right people, delegate, create systems, and trust a team while still maintaining the quality and consistency our clients expect.

There have also been plenty of lessons around pricing, scheduling, equipment, managing expenses, and figuring out where to invest back into the business. Growing revenue is exciting, but I’ve learned that building a healthy company is about much more than just bringing in more sales.

Real estate itself can also be unpredictable. Some weeks are extremely busy and others are slower, so learning how to build a team and operation that can adapt to that demand has been an ongoing challenge.

I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I try to look at each one as an opportunity to improve the business. Every challenge has pushed me to build better systems, communicate more clearly, and become a better leader. I’m still learning every day, and I think maintaining that mindset has been a huge part of Radiate’s growth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Radiate Real Estate Media is a full-service real estate media company serving agents, teams, brokerages, and vacation rental companies throughout San Diego County. We specialize in real estate photography, videography, drone, 3D tours, floor plans, social media content, and other marketing assets that help our clients showcase properties at a high level.

What we really focus on is making the entire media process easy and consistent for our clients. Real estate moves quickly, so agents need a media team they can rely on. From booking the shoot to capturing the property, editing, and final delivery, our goal is to provide high-quality work with great communication and dependable turnaround times.

I’m especially proud of the team we’ve built and the relationships we’ve developed with our clients. Seeing agents come back to us again and again, refer other agents, and trust our team with their listings is probably the most rewarding part of building Radiate.

What sets us apart is that we try to look beyond simply delivering beautiful photos or videos. With my background in digital marketing, I think a lot about how the media will actually be used to market the property and the agent behind it. We want to be a long-term creative and marketing partner for our clients rather than just another vendor they call for a photoshoot.

We’re always looking for ways to improve, whether that means investing in our team, refining our processes, adding new services, or finding better ways to help our clients stand out. I think that combination of quality, reliability, and continually trying to get better is what we want Radiate to be known for.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?

There are a lot of people who deserve credit for helping me get to where I am today.

First and foremost, my wife, Lucy, has been one of my biggest supporters. Building a business comes with long days, uncertainty, and plenty of times when work follows you home, and she has always encouraged me and believed in what I’m building.

My family has also played a huge role. I grew up around entrepreneurship and real estate, so I was exposed early on to what it takes to build relationships, work hard, and create something of your own. Having people around me who encouraged that mindset gave me the confidence to take a chance on Radiate.

I also give a lot of credit to our team. Radiate wouldn’t be where it is today without the photographers, editors, and people behind the scenes who care about the quality of what we deliver. As we’ve grown, I’ve learned that building a great company is much more about the people around you than trying to do everything yourself.

And finally, our clients deserve a tremendous amount of credit. Some of our agents and partners trusted us when Radiate was still very small, continued to book with us, referred us to others, and gave us valuable feedback along the way. Those relationships have been a huge part of our growth.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported Radiate so far. Although I started the company, it has definitely taken a lot of people believing in it and contributing to get it where it is today.
